What instruments can I study? The disciplines offered at the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music are accordion (piano key), Highland bagpipe, clarsach, fiddle, piano, guitar, flute/whistle, Gaelic Song and Scots Song. If you play an instrument which is outside the range of disciplines presently offered as formal study, you will have the opportunity to use that instrument in group-work, although you won’t get regular lessons on it. Current and former students have used drums, percussion, double bass, bouzouki, mandolin, clarinet and saxophone in this way. |
